Hi all.

I just got my lad his first car an 07 grande punto but it has a few issues hopefully someone can help?

1. The climate control panel all works and lights up but the fans dont kick in at all?

2. The headlights stay on (unless ignition is off) but when ignition is on they lights are on constantly.

Any ideas would be so greatfully recieved.

The fan in the cabin is controlled by a pulse width modulator....

One of these

If this is the problem buy the one in my link as you won’t find one cheaper than that, it’s a genuine part and normally direct from the dealer they are over £100.

Headlights might be a faulty switch on the steering controls. People tend to drive for years without turning the lights off so people don’t tend to notice if something goes bad.

I’d pull the headlight relay just to make sure it’s not a stuck relay

Thanks mate

Is there a way i can test it, is it located under glove box?

Could it be just a fuse?

You can check the fuses obviously, it’s behind the glove box on the back part of the interior fan, there is a very large orange wire going into it.

You can’t really test the unit but you can check the power going into it and if all is good likelihood is the PWM has failed

Hey mate,

Do you know where I can find the headlight relay?

Andy, you are a superstar mate.

Orderd the bit you posted, arrived and footer .. have fans again yay!

Although air cond dosent get very cold, maybe needs a re-gas.

Anyways, just wanted to say thank you for your advice :)

Thanks for letting us know you fixed it !!

Regarding the AC, compressor clutch coil can also be at fault...
On some VWs, a combination of some AC switches displays a lot of information (gas presssure, temp, etc.) instead of the programmed temp indicators. Isn't there something similar on our GPs ??
