Technical Front Suspension - Control arms replacing?

Hey guys. So finally rectified and solved the problem, my theory was correct but it goes alittle deeper also. Made a video yo explain and help anyone else out to be aware: the clunking noise has gone, and thw car rides.much but, so chuffed as it has been a saga

Thanks Everson, brilliant video. Personally I have a lot of faith in Shop4parts. I ordered my Panda shocks from them. I just took their "Top Line" brand, been on for some time now and doing just fine. I did a post about it - just in case you would like to view it: https://www.fiatforum.com/panda/475141-beckys-leaky-strut.html?475141=#post4491245

I've ordered a number of items from them and at first I was a bit suspicious of all these brand names I didn't know - Original Birth, Top Line, etc but everything has been fine and quality very good. Although not always the absolute cheapest I find their prices acceptably competitive and I can't be bothered with the "phaf" involved in exchanging wrongly supplied parts - They've never sent a wrong part.

Hey gave it a quick read, looks like you had some bad luck like me but got there in the end. I do like shop4parts, really helpful, but when i started it was about get it done for MOT as it failed. so i was concerned about wrong parts arriving and then I would have to get them returned via post, where as euro car parts you have the stores. Im glad its done, it rides so much best and no clunking noise. been alittle over done with cars this year as baby sister can drive now and firends and families cars always end up mine taking a back seat. lol

Understood Everson. I too sometimes buy from our local factor for the same reason. It's really frustrating being held up whilst a part does the "grand tour" when you have to return it when the factor is just 10 minutes away in the car.

Looks like we have a similar situation regarding family cars. "Dad's Garage" is first port of call for our kids and their friends and the occasional neighbour. I've learned you need to be very wary with neighbours though, get it right and you're the greatest thing since sliced bread. But, get it wrong and oh deary me! I've stopped doing jump starting on modern cars but will offer to do an overnight charge with my smartcharger and I never offer to work on anything without a very careful look at it first. Mostly it's family stuff these days.
