SORRY if there are tons of these posts but most of what I found was several years old...

Soon I want to replace front brake pads+discs.
Had initially thought of buying EBC greenstuff but stumpled across a pile of negative posts about EBC in other Danish forums (just googled it).

I am not looking for a very expensive new caliper setup.

I am looking for disc+pads for what I believe some call "spirited street use". At least this is what EBC calls their greenstuff pads which should be between somewhere between grandpa and track use.

I want someting better that standard. Less dust would be preffered (after initial bedding in period). Wouldn't mind if the discs was colored so that the area not touched by the pads get all rusty...

What do you recommend? :)

Standard is ok for this car - ATE, Ferodo, Brembo. Just buy discs + pads from the same manufacturer

Black diamond stuff is pretty good. I have currently got a full set of the Predator Pads on the car and standard disks, with a high quality racing brake fluid. Seems to work well for me and the price of the setup is very appealing.

I have used Paged kit across a few cars.Never had any problems other than when a friend wanted to use Eicher pads with Pagid discs. He refused to listen to my advice (wanted to save money). After fitting them they werent right. He took it to two different garages, who both stripped and rebuilt everything, only to copme back to me and pay the extra £8 for Pagid ones and that was that. Job done, lesson learnt.

Thanks for all your speedy replies!

Any in particular if i’d like the look of the disc to be grooved? I believe that drilled eats of pads too quickly!?

I might paint the calipers so don’t mind paying a bit more for 10-15% better braking and looks.

I also thought about painting calipers...but...it's still only Punto :) So I'll only clean calipers, throw there Brembos (I found them with price like ATE) and that's all

Any standard brakes are fine, “better” pads have a habit of being more sacrificing if that makes sense, basically they get hotter, so wear quicker and dissipate more heat but in doing so don’t last as long.

The whole idea of groves and holes is to aid cooling (to a tiny degree) but also to help get gasses away from the pads produced by heat, these gasses obviously carry heat but also can reduce the efficiency of the pads.

But we’re not talking about a 200mph super car with 40mm discs and 6 pot callipers, so non of this really matters on a little punto
