Any good ideas?
Sounds like something has gone wrong with the new wiring/connectors?

Re: Replacing climate control fan resistor

If I'm not wrong this fan is the squirrel-cage type, not axial; so shouldn't be too sensitive to rotation sense. Anyway, swap power cables to the fan and see if it improves the air-flow. Might be also a flap that keep closed. Either manually driven by cables or electrically actuated if it's a "comfort" version...

Re: Replacing climate control fan resistor

I don't think the fan is "squirrel-cage". It's the same as in the pictures above. There is an arrow on the fan, and right now it's running in the opposite direction. The flaps are electrically actuated. I did not change the connector for the blower, only the 3 connectors to the "resistor".

I started a new thread about this topic, because I thought that people didn't se this one, sorry. I'll try to delete it.

Re: Replacing climate control fan resistor

OK, something very strange has happened: I think I've now lost the A/C compressor !!!??? I've got no cold air and the A/C button doesn't do anything (led turns on and off but no sign of life from the compressor).

I wonder if this has anything to do with the resistor ???
I'll put the old resistor in and see what happens

The AC compressor clutch (L021) is electrically activated, you might have a blown fuse or the relay that went bad ...

Re: Replacing climate control fan resistor

The aircon compressor will also not do anything if the gas has all leaked out, it could be you’ve been unlucky and a pipe or join has burst or leaks suddenly, a stone or corrosion has damaged the condenser, but basically no gas = no cold air but the aircon button will still turn the light on and off.

Re: Replacing climate control fan resistor

Got the original part back in and A/C is now fully functional!
So it appears that they are not identical after all (white one is FIAT original)...

The difference is probably evident in the part number: One is A.430.009.00 whereas the FIAT original is A.430.008.00

Yes, original-old part broken fan speed once again, A/C compressor works as expected.
New par,t fan speed works fine, A/C compressor does not start up

Re: Replacing climate control fan resistor

I've purchased the A.430.008.00 version of the resistor from shop 4 parts and can now confirm that everything works normally!

Thanks Bernievarian thanked for this post
