Hi Guys,

Thinking of installing an after market central locking system to my GP as i lost my remote key and only having the mechanical key.
Ordered this universal locking unit from ebay.Universal Car Remote Control Central Kit

I have read few posts and guides on FF and saw the wiring was different with occasions.
Usually the unit comes with 6 wires for door locks (Orange,white,yellow,Orange/black, white/black, yellow/black) and supports different locking types like positive trigger, negative trigger , positive/negative trigger etc....

In Grande punto 1.4 8v 2006 5 door high spec, what is the door locking trigger type used. i checked in eLearn and count find any info.

Also what would be the correct/best way of triggering the door lock. connecting the wires from the kit to the BCM (pin 17 & 19 in connector E) or the center console's door lock switch?

If anyone done this please let me know and any help much appreciated. :worship:

Regards
Bob.

Hi Bob,

D connector Pins 17, 18 & 19 of BCM are connected to the locking motors, they're fed either + / - or - /+ for lock / unlock.
Pin 49 on BCM connector D provides a reference earth, pin 39 triggers the lock/unlock command from panel switch when shorted to pin 49 (or ground).
Pin 29 on BCM connector A receives the lock/unlock signal from the driver's door handle, this is the one I'd recommend to connect your receiver unit to: it connects to ground either via high or lower resistance to identify the driver's wish.

On your receiver, choose the negative triggers and connect them to pin29 thru resistors with same values as you can measure from the N050 driver's door mechanism...

BRs, Bernie
