Hi and thanks for reading.

I have 2006 1.2 Grande Punto. My issue is the N/S brake light is not working.

O/S and 3rd light are working ok. Because these are working I can safely say the brake pedal switch is working correctly. Using a volt meter I have connected to a good earth and the brake light terminal at the light cluster. With the ignition on and pressing the brake pedal I am getting a fluctuating reading of between 4.5 to 6 volts. I suspect the problem may be at the BCM. I will next check for continuity from the BCM to the lamp cluster. If this proves good I will change the BCM.

My Question is, if I have to change the BCM, is it plug and play or will programming be required.

When you say other lamp wiring. Do you mean bulbs in the same cluster N/S, or so you mean the bulbs in the O/S. Without checking the voltages all I can say at the moment is the brake light bulb in the O/S is illuminating at the correct brilliance. I will have another look tomorrow or Monday. and report back.
