Hi everyone,

Been a while since I was last on here not had a punto in a while! Bought a 1.4 8v eleganza last year with only 15k on the clock from new.

Later that year the mileage started flashing, and the symbols were distorted until it eventually just stopped displaying altogether.

I'm looking at selling the car anyway, and obviously this would put most people off so I bought replacement instrument cluster off eBay which was all tested to be working, I've tool the old one apart and replaced it with the LCD screen off the new clocks

I did this because I wasn't sure what mileage the new clocks had done and wasn't sure how it was stored either ecu or somewhere in the clocks themselves?

Anyway I've fitted this new screen to my old clocks and it's blank just the same as it was before, has anyone had this before? Not sure what it could be now, does anyone know for sure where the mileage is stored maybe I could plug the new ones in without it being stored?

Thanks in advance
Mike

Body computer.

Are you SURE the 15k was correct if the odometer is iffy.

Multiecuscan will read what proper mileage is. Charlie

Hi,

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I had the car a few months before this happened and I had all the old mots with the mileage.

I'll start having a look for a bcm then. ?Thanks
Mike

Just a quick question, been reading more threads on here regarding the blank odometer screen, and it seems that a replacement LCD screen off donor clocks usually fixes?

Could it still be BCM if all other systems on car work? The only issue is the blank odometer ?

Thanks
Mike

Hello,
Back again! As above, the fault seems to be bcm after replacing the screen, however hoping for a bit more advice if poss.

The fiat dealer near me and another garage I spoke to wont code a second hand bcm has to be new and is £500+vat and coding etc

I'm selling the car anyway but don't want to sell it with the faulty screen as there's no way of proving the mileage,of other than last year's mot but not sure what mileage I've done this year. so I'm looking for someone who would code a used bcm in the northwest area if anyone knows and can recommend? Thanks in advance

Cheers
Mike
