Hi Guys,

Recently I noticed that my handbreak wasn’t working correctly, I jacked the car up to see if a Caliper had seized but the wheels wouldn’t turn if I applied the footbreak. Any ideas if this and easy fix or requires me fitting a new handbreak cable?

Thanks
Billy

Take a closer look, actually take the wheels off & see what's what. Check the handBRAKE cable for wear & tear/corrosion general function. When was the last time the cable was changed/looked at. Regular servicing of the handbrake & rear brakes ensures a working/holding handbrake. If you have drums, take these off & check the internals, clean & replace whats needed. If you have discs similar, clean & replace what's needed, also check caliper for sticking.

Neglect is the main factor in the demise of the braking system. Getting your hands dirty & doing investigation work can save you cash. :)
