Hello,

car is 1.3 multijet 55kw grande punto and it has suffered some codes lately. At first high pressure pump leaked inside motor and mixed oil and diesel. I got it running with cleaning, changin oils and with gaskets changes.


But still with hard acceleration fuel pressure drops with 3-4-5 gears and code p0089 come & limp mode. I have checked graphs with Mes and i'm not sure what readings there should be...with some parameters.


I quess theres some problem with low pressure pump or alternator/electricity.


Alternator gives normal readings on battery - 14,4v while motor running, but mes shows (ecu) reading 13,5v. Ground contact ?

Intake air quantity shows 250-500 mg/i reading while driving and calculated readings are always about 200mg/i higher?

What other readings could tell me more info?

Lambda, map has changed, those are good.

Commonrail regulator seems to work okay, but not yet cleaned.

Pressure goes high with 2 gear.
 
P0089=Fuel pressure regulator

Remove and clean its mesh filter, how long has been the fuel filter replaced ?

just cleaned high pressure regulator and it was little bit dirty but test drive was almost identical with the last time. Limp mode came with pedal-to-the-floor 3th gear. Same code p0089.


Fuel filter is changed two weeks ago. Oil cooler is fixed also two weeks ago while oil and coolant get mixed.


Maf cleaned. Egr solenoid and valve under it works - but little pipe to intake might be dirty. Seems that egr-openings doesnt affect much to the boost pressure (with Mes).

This is pedal down with 5th gear and fuel pressure drops while regulator opens up. Limp mode will come after that because desired fuel pressure goes on higher. I wonder is it normal that regulator opens in that situation. Is it ecu-decision for some reason...or fuel pump in tank, alternator hmm. Turbo wastegate moves, but not sure is vacuum to it working okay. Would it be possible that motor do not get enough diesel and decides to open up that regulator.


Injectors looks okay - not leaking, but those are so tight in motor so I havent removed them yet.

Hi Mate did you sort this issue. I am facing same issue, do you think it is fuel pressure sensor? When my can in more thanks 3000rpm on 5th gear and p0089 shows and goes to limp mode. Please advise me if you can thanks
