Hi looking for some help.


Got a 2008 Grande Punto that wont start. Wont crank and wont start when connecting her up to jump leads but it'll bump start!?


The immobilser light will stay lit after a couple of mins of trying to start.

Any ideas what it could be?! Happened all of a sudden. Battery has been tested.

Right, ive read about the earthing problems which can cause this issue so am i right in saying if i get a jump lead and attach this to the negative battery terminal and then to the car if this is the issue it will start?

If so could someone advise the best place to attach the jump lead to car to test this?!

Hi.

The original cable goes from battery neg. To engine..and gearbox.

Run the 'jumplead' from battery neg to a decent lump of accessible metal on the engine.

Do this with ENGINE OFF..

and do not route near moving parts.. belts. Etc ..

Hoping this works but if it dont have you got any suggestions? Not actually my car anymore, one I gave to family so feel partly responsible for getting this sorted.
