Does anybody know if it's possible to obtain a workshop manual for the duologic gearbox as fitted to a 2009 1.4 Grande Punto. I would have thought that Fiat would have produced one,but I can't find any mention of one. I have the usual Haynes manual which is not worth the paper it's printed on. It doesn't even mention Duologic transmission.

I don't have a problem with my car at the moment the gearbox works perfectly. However just in case I do have problems with it I want to know how fix it. As it seem most garages including Fiat main dealer seem to know very little about these gearboxes.

I would be very much obliged for any information the anyone can give me.
Kind regards
Salicet

Hi and welcome on board !

would you understand written italian or spanish ??

Hi!
My Brothers eLearn CD (bought somewere at the web, latest file date 17-06-2008) has a lot of info of the dualogic units internal working, also look here:
https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto-guides/439619-dualogic-troubleshooting-guide.html
BTW. I have now changed my clutch to a Zaks MTA kit and it now has about 25 mm. free play, I think that the membrane spring was broken in some way and I will try to dismantle the pressure plate to take som pictures of the spring. I have also changed the selespeed fluid (It was black as tar) and now I can barely hear the pump when I open the door.

As clutch operation is done by the hydraulics, when the clutch is changed it needs a relearn. A Fiat dealer can do this, but might refuse if they did not replace the clutch, and I think MultiECUscan can do it, so that might be the way to go.
Once relearnt, it adjusts as it wears to maintain proper operation.

Hi!
I have already done that using MES even the OBD can do it too, It now seems to work OK even the ECO switch seems to work as intended I don't remember that it did that before.

Hi Bernie,
Thank you for your reply to my request for a Dualogic workshop manual. Sadly I can't read Italian or Spanish, however if I had the information in a foreign language I could get it translated I guess.

Kind Regards

Hi and thanks for your reply. I am sorry but I do not understand what you were saying about needing a re-learn after changing the clutch. That is why I am looking for a workshop manual in the hope it will explain exactly how the system works. Which I hope would give me a idea of how to go about a repair.
Kind Regards
Salicet.

Hi Kjeldio, Thank you very much for your reply. Sadly it does not help me very much as one need to know which sensor is which etc. I only bought the car about 15 months ago and it only has 23000 miles on the clock. So I hope I won't have any problems for a while. At the moment it changed gear perfectly. Fifteen months ago I had never even heard of Dialogic transmission. I would like a manual so I can read it at my leisure and learn from scratch about the Dialogic system, so that should I have a problem with it I am better placed to decide if I need to take it to a dealer or fix it myself
Kind Regards
Salicet.

With a manual gearbox, the driver feels when the clutch is about to engage. Each car is different, and as it wears the bite point changes.
The dualogic is a manual transmission, actuated by hydraulics instead of a human. It memorises where the bite point is, rather than feel it. With a change of clutch, the system needs to go through a process of actuations to re-learn where the bite point is. This is done using the Fiat diagnostic system, or MES software (do a search on this forum if you're not yet aware of this).

Hi Salicet,

can you provide the VIN of your car so maybe we can find what type of dualogic is mounted ??

Hi Salicet,

If you car has the 1.4 engine then I think that it is fitted with the CFC328 Robot with is installed on the C514 gearbox. I have PM you some information on the CFC328.

Hi Tonico, Thank you very much for the information you sent me on the CFC328 unit. It certainly helps a great deal and I appreciate it greatly. However I would still like to find a manual that explains in detail how the system works. If such a manual actually exists.

Kind regards
Salicet.

Hi! Salicet, if you have followed my link at #3 and read all of the guide by Tonico77 to the end you would now know what we were talking about, and btw. if you have used the link I provided to the panda elearn at #24 (the 1.2L 8v uses CFC328/C514 as the GP does) you would now have acces to allmost all the CFC328 technical info you would ever get from FIAT.
tonico77 could you please provide me with the info too.
bernie My Vin is ZFA19900001341104 what version do I have?

BRs. Kjeld
