Hi all,

Quick question,

Fired up my car this evening, got a minute down to the servo, turned off the car, minute later turned on, then five seconds later i get the battery light and my power steering went,
Stopped driving after a few mins to check what was going on, turned car off, nothing visual caught my eye, turned car on, everything was back to normal,

Bad earth or something else??

Thanks in advance

Weak battery, poor grounding are the favorite candidates …

Thanks
Was thinking that,
You wouldn't happen to know which earth to check would you?

Usually the main grounding from battery to body to gearbox is the culprit, the cable often "roten" internally; but that doesn't mean the positive wiring (i.e. to the Electric Power Steering) or the connection is not deffective too …

I'd start with getting the battery tested and/or replaced if it's getting old before thinking about looking for corroded cables. The EPAS in these cars is quite hungry and relies on a good battery. Supercheap do battery testing according to their website (I'm assuming you're from Aus at the mention of a 'servo' :p)
