Hello, I'm trying to wire a dashcam in to the fuses so it has power every time the ignition is on while not taking up a USB port.

Do any of the fuses in the Dashboard fuse box allow me to do this? That's the fuses located behind the glove box as I'd rather wire it in there than the cigarette lighter fuse in the engine bay.

Thanks in advance.

Many dash cam live wire kits include a box that is usually built onto the wire itself which cuts off power to the dash cam after the battery drops below a certain voltage, as to not drain the battery. It would be fine wiring this to a permanently live fuse, many benefits include the dash cam running when your not in the car so you can make use of the parking mode included with many modern dash cams.

I'm planning on doing this myself, just haven't got round to doing it yet.

Take a live feed off the ciggy lighter should do it.

So this is what I've tried, I'm piggybacking off the cigarette lighter fuse but can only fit 1 fuse in the piggy back slots rather than two. The cigarette lighter still works but I'm not getting power to the dash cam?

Or is there a better way to take a feed from the cigarette lighter? The manual says it is Fuse 86 in the engine bay, perhaps I need to fill both fuse slots in the piggyback for the cigarette lighter AND dash cam to be powered? If that's the case then how do i get the clearance? Can you get taller fuses?
