Just giving some experience of a fix to my car.
Engine would turn over once and then die. Diagnostic showed P0105 and P0110 error. I replaced the MAP SENSOR with one off eBay (with 5 year guarantee!) . Still would crank once then die.
I checked earth with continuity tester, replaced crankshaft sensor (Just in case) all connectors disconnected, cleaned, replaced - still same error.
Removing the MAP SENSOR would allow me to start the engine every time but had engine management light showing.
Decided to bite the bullet and buy a new MAP sensor , costing £50, engine started first time!!!
I cleared the ecu error codes, all now good.
Lesson... don't buy a cheap sensor!

Lesson 2:

there are MAP sensors and MAP sensors …

Cheap from EBay or CE (China Export), doesn't necessary mean a bad, but maybe the wrong one ! You need to be 100% sure you install the exact number that's for your engine !

There are mainly two different type in the exact same housing:

- one is with pressure sensor only
- the other is with pressure AND temperature sensors

Finally either type has various version regarding their pressure range …

Remenber they all look the same but they can be different enough to make the ECU consider it at fault and go in limp and throw the MIL …
