General Gap around air filter housing box

Is there meant to be a gap around the cover for the air filter? I've screwed it tight, and checked nothing is caught but can't get it flush.

(1.4L 16v)

You need to seat FIRST the filter seal in the lower box groova, and then put the upper part and tight the clips …

Thanks Bernie, I took it apart again to double check it was seated correctly at the bottom but it is indeed warped and not fitting together properly. Local Fiat dealer would like a mere £260 for a new one, so I think I will be searching the scrap yards for this one!
