I replaced my spark plugs today, and in doing so broke the clips that lock in the connection between the ignition coils and the "thing" that it plugs into.

The clips are a part of the "thing", which I do not know the name of. Does anyone know? I want to look it up and see about finding a replacement, or replacement clips, but I don't know what to search for and can't find it on ePer.

Can anyone name this part! :)

I've got a 1.4L 16v petrol engine, StarJet (not T-Jet)

I've looked around on eBay, but without knowing the right term to search or a part number, it's difficult.

I was wondering if the clips were the same..

Ah sorry, yeah I think they are a bit different. But I will have a look at mine and check.

From the picture, you can see a little black "T" shaped piece and a yellow clip beneath it (on the 3rd coil plug). In the screenshot, all the rest except the 3rd are broken - like mine. It's not a huge deal, they are held on fairly securely as the plastic harness is bolted on to the engine. I was more interested in seeing how much a replacement for the whole thing was, as mine is generally in bad condition.

TBH I think the retaining clips you are referring to are integral to the actual loom/harness itself...

IF I got this correct your looking at a new or second hand loom...

You say they are currently relatively secure and I assume the cars working ok..

I would either try and secure with cable ties or....use a glue gun to secure them..

Bodge maybe but it gives you time to source replacements...

Tie straps for now. Get four connectors cut off from a breakers with some wiring loom still on them, then you can remove the plastic plugs from the wires and swap the plugs over. Other option is swap loom which could be costly.

Given it another look, and it seems these power plugs and the plastic rail they are mounted on is connected to the rest of the harness, all in one. So a direct replacement isn't so straightforward. The part number for the whole harness is 55204926. I was looking for an individual component on ePer, like a HT lead so that's why I couldn't find it. Makes me wonder what the official service advice from Fiat is. As I thought HT leads were semi regular service items, but replacing this rail (the equivalent of a set of HT leads for this engine, I assume) is a much bigger job. I can only find a part number for the whole wiring loom too, not just the HT lead part.

The good news is it's very secure as-is. 3 out of 4 clips are still in place, just the yellow plastic guards are missing. Each ignition coil is bolted down, as is the harness, so I don't think this is going to move. Gave it a good tug, and doesn't budge. You can buy the plugs (part number 71752816) so maybe I'll do that if there's a problem in the future.
