Hi,

I know this has been brought up many times before but this leak is a little unusual.

My Son's Punto keeps collecting water in the spare wheel well, initially it looked to be coming from the rear wiper arm grommet. I have sealed this in and cannot see any water ingress from inside the car. On further investigation it appears that between the wiper motor bodywork mount and the skin of the tail gate is where water is weeping in. I for the life of me cannot see how or where the water would get in. Once the water is in it runs down the inside of the second skin of the tail gate and drips onto the boot catch and then on into the boot.

I have attached a couple of pictures of the area where the water is getting in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Will.

Hi. The wpier shaft has an o ring seal.

That should keep water out of the gearbox.

You can use a masric sealant to seal the outer fit through tailgate

With my leak.. i have placed sheets of paper around the wheel well edges.. to track the water path.

No true diagnosis as yet.. but I did see water on the parcel shelf support bracket

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure the wiper assembly is to blame as everything dry except the join circled, however I will take the assembly out and tape over the hole to see if the leak stops.

I take it the rivets will need drilling out?

Many Thanks

Will.
