When my boot is closed there’s a light on my dash telling me that the boot is open, the boot light also constantly stays on aswell because it too thinks the boot is open. What do we think the problem is?

Hello Grande225,
That sounds similar to me, when I bought my car. In my case, it never told me it was open.
The problem is in the boot lock, that inside, there is a sensor, that maybe is damaged due to the dirtyness, or locked and it can't move.

Try clean the lock with grease remover, test the lock with a screw driver simulating that you are closing the trunk a few times, and then put some grease for lubricate the lock. If you have diagnostic software, maybe you can check if lock is working or not, or if a line of the lock (positive or negative) is damaged or not working.

At worst of case, buy another one and try it then.

Best regards,
Julio.
