Hi Forumers,

has anyone ever succeeded with implementing the "auto" Mirror feature on a GP ?

The idea is to have the passenger Mirror going down a bit when reverse gear is engaged, so one can avoid bitting the rims on the sidewalk curb...

Thanks in advance, regards, Bernie

Don't think it's a fiat feature probably why

One of my Stilos has it, the other doesn't. The one that has it, also has electrically adjustable seats, so perhaps the dipping passenger mirror when engaging reverse gear function was part of the electric seats pack.

There's 3 buttons on the driver's seat that can be programmed to memorise the seat and door mirrors positions for 3 different drivers. I can also preset what position the passenger mirror dips to when engaging reverse gear.

I found out a few years ago that the passenger mirror for cars equipped with electric seat is over twice the price of a normal mirror, so I suspect there's some memory related component(s) in it.

I don't think the GP ever had the option of electrically adjustable seats.

you could just hack it... with an arduino
When reverse switch is low (engaged)... move mirror down 3 seconds... when reverse switch is high(not grounded/ disengaged)...move mirror up 3 seconds.

Nothing mechanical..... just tie into the reverse switch and the mirror controls on the door.
Some additional components will be necessary for getting power down to 5v for the arduino, and for the 13v control... if it is indeed 12v

Well I have discovered that my GP turns on the rear wiper (constant) when you engage reverse gear and the front wipers are activated on any setting (y)

Unfortunately my passenger mirror isn’t adjusting remotely - which is something I need to look at.
