Hi all

I've been having problems with my high level brake light or third brake light as some call it on my Fiat Grande Punto

At first all the bulbs blew (so i changed the bulbs)

but now the problem has returned (some bulbs blown some look ok)

I've measured the voltage coming into the track for the bulbs to be approx 6V (from supply to ground)

0V on the return wire (cars body is the return path for voltage right? I am not familiar with the return paths for cars)

And i also measured 0 ohms from the return wire to ground

I suspect that the return wire is broken in the boot however i have not got a scooby where the wires go and what panels i would have to take out in the boot.

I can't even find a decent schematic to follow

I could also be horribly wrong, if so please say! i'm at the head scratching stage :bang:

If anyone has any tips i would appreciate it

Many thanks (y)

The scematic above is a good start.I had to rewire the complete rear loom recently as the book lock failed.
The loom is known to cause issues when it starts to breakdown.

Its relatively easy to cut and splice new cables in. I went to my local breakers and found a decent loom/donor cables and sorted it.

Thanks for this schematic, i will give it a crack in the new year

Is c030 an earth stud in the boot?

Many thanks and happy new year! ?

Usually in car's world, the Black wires (Nero in Italian) are the return path (ground / negative) . According to the schematics, the C030 is a grounding point shared by (at least) the boot and the left wing brake-lights ...

Happy New-Year too, Bernie

Hi,0 Ohms means no resistance,so wire is ok. Very High ohms means there's a fault.
