:confused:Hi I have a 2010 1.4 auto Engine starts and cant select any gears
I have these Codes

Code P1773 Hydraulic circuit pressure
P2911 Clutch sub - system
P1819 Engine Torque (From CAN)
P0560 Battery Voltage,,,,,,, Probably becuse it had been standing and the battery went flat

Any one have any idea what the problem is please

Paul

Hi Paul,

the auto gear-box is actuated by an electro/hydraulic pump powered by the battery.

First of all You need to have a well charged battery, then we can start troubleshooting ...

Hi Bernie, The battery is fully charged, I have the car at work, so I can only work on it during the week, If you can give me a few things to check, that would be great, I have quite a lot of equipment. I am just not familiar with this box. If I am to check the electrics I could do with getting a wiring diagram, I have had a quick look on autodata but they don't show on for an auto for some reason.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Regards

Paul

I am not sure, i think it is electronic operated, How can I tell what the system is ?.

Hi Paul,

has the error codes been erased or still present ? Some are reset when the cause disapear but some are permanent (until erasing).
If the battery voltage code is still present, I'd suspect earthing issue ...

Hi Bernie, No I have not cleared the faults, I need to find where the fuses are to check the power or any power points that will let me know if it is power problem or earth. a Good wiring diagram would be very useful if anyone has one.

Paul

Hi Paul, here is the first drawing I found, J087 is the Robot relay and B099 is the fuse box on the battery ...

Hi Paul, found this also... I wish you spoke (or at least understood) Portugues !

Don't be afraid, the Guy is a bit talkative and it's about a Linea, but this video is VERY interesting and You'll certainly learn a lot watching it and the next ones !

At 10:20 it shows almost exactly the same errors that You got !! I haven't watched it further but I bet You will, please tell us if it was Worth it ...

Hi Bernie, Thanks for the link, Yes it would be great if spoke Portuguese, It does give me an idea of what I am dealing with. There is no way I am stripping the gearbox down to that stage. I haven't done any thing on this car yet as I wanted to get as much information on it as to how it all works . I going to have a look at it this week and see if i have power to the box, Then I will take it from there. I will let you know how I get on, Thanks for your help.

Hi Paul, the best I know about Learning how you Grande is built/works is the e-learn CD that you can download the ISO file from the net and mount on your lap/desktop. It contains A LOT of very valuable informations, that's from where I extracted almost all the drawings I've posted so far ... Haynes manual is also a very good source.

Hi Bernie, if you are still following this thread, i have been sidetracked for a few moths, but I am now going to sort this punto out once and for all , according to autodata the manual transmission drawing on their data base is the correct on for the car, I will start Monday on the power and grounds. I was wondering if you can operate this selespeed unit if it was unbolted from the car. and lift it away still connected electrically . That would eliminate anything gearbox related. has anyone any help please

Paul

Hi Paul,

the robot should work out of the gearbox if all electrics stay connected. You should be able to select 1st, 2nd and Rear gear only, the others being accessible when car is moving at a certain speed.
Keep in mind the clutch must be activated (and moving) to allow the controller to engage one gear. You can only achieve this if you have the axial actuator type clutch (actuator and sensor inside the clutch-bell around the primary shaft).

Hope this helps a bit, BRs, Bernie

Hi Paul!
I have seen it done via some long extension cables, but it is almost impossible to do it on the car it was removed from, the cable to the gearbox speed indicator is very short, also you would have to reconnect all the removed connections, remount the ECU and battery etc. also you would only be able to run the motor for a very short time without the coolant, (you’ll have to remove all the coolant tubes and the expansion container to get the actuator out, I just did that myself. #19 + #20 ) I think you would still be able to use the MES, but I would not try to activate the clutch without resistance, the piston could pop out of the cylinder.
I don’t know if it is possible to repair the bellow or (if I can get a new one) it is possible to change it when the actuator is mounted.

Hi I am Back on this car again, I have now put another selespeed unit on the car, Still having problems, But I am now determined to get to the bottom of this, Using Multiscan I can select forward and reverse gear, Clutch piston is moving, not sure if it is enough, I have tried to do a calibration command, It takes about 15 minutes and comes back Complete status unknown, But the strange thing is I have no parameters they are all 00'S , Is this because I have changed the unit and been able to calibrate it?. When i manage to select a gear using the Shifter the oil goes down in the plastic bottle and I know the pump is working, Not sure about the pressure as I have no information available. I am going to make a jig and a extension cable to operate it out of the car so I can see what is going on, I have also bought E learn, But I cant find anything related to this gearbox?.

Paul

Hi Paul,

you installed another robot, but how about the controller ?

BRs, Bernie

Hi Bernie, Ni to hear from you again. My brother went to see a specialist in waterlooville down south, and he said they are interchangeable?.

Paul

I meant have you replaced the controler as well... as it can be the culprit too ! Same thing with the harness !
