Hey guys

I have a grande punto tjet 2009.

I am looking to replace my boot light on mine and my gf car from the OEM Bulbs (not sure of name Halogen? Incandescent? - Someone correct me lol)

As they are blown (it seems). My questions are.
1) Can I just replace them for LED Bulbs or do I need to worry that they are too strong and may just blow fuses

2) Is it a good idea- I'm looking to do it merely cz everything seems to be LED today? So just following suit

3) Are there any downsides - It's not an mot fail or anything to do so.

Sorry guys I'm terrible with electical side of cars so any help would be great.

First of all you would need 'E' marked L.E.D bulbs that support the can bus system or they will thrown up errors on the dashboard and diagnostics

Not sure on that setup.. i guess its H.I.D ... not a traditional bulb.. can someone else comment.. i dont have much knowledge on this front. Only ever owned one car with your lights and in the 3 months ownership never had to do anything. Sorry.

When you say boot lights do you mean inside or out ? If it's inside it's just a matter of changing for a 501 led wedge bulb. None of the interior lights are covered by the canbus system so won't throw up errors. However if you are looking to replace the number plate lights you will need error cancellers.

For your reference these are the bulbs you would need for the interior lights:

Boot-501
Interior ceiling light-39mm festoon bulb

Thanks for that. Yes I did initially mean inside the boot so I can see when I putting shipping in there. Sorry to.be.a.pain can someone explain what this Cambus is? And also explain abit on error codes- as.i am unsure why a bulb wil throw up an error code. This is what is worrying when it comes to buying. But if simple enough I want to change headlights and.fogs to LEDs and also interior lighting. I just don't want it to mess up my battery or fuses as I assume they ate linked.

Canbus is a system that monitors the electrical systems of the car. So if there is an issue it will alert you with a warning on the dash. If the car detects a lower current being drawn from a
Bulb it will assume that the bulb has blown and give you a message.

However as I mentioned previously the interior lights aren't on this system so none of them would show an error.

I previously had a bravo and know that both the headlights and fog lights also weren't monitored by canbus however the sidelights were. Not sure if the pintos the same.

Hope this helps, anything else just ask.
