Technical shaking/vibration front wheels at 60-80 km/h

Well, these are quite common parts sold by the thousands, as the same is used for Opel/Vauxhall Corsas.

So I would not bother messing with correct axle grease and rubbers and jubilee clips, which you have to buy separately, and then hope you assemble all in the right way.

The whole axles ready to fit cost from 60-100 GBP / Euro an eBay so....

Daniel, you are quite lucky to have a lift on yer garage, I would like to have one as well. Well at least we have a garage.

I am still waiting for the left axle to arrive, and will not drive the car before it is installed because the shaking is just frightening now. Have a good day y'all.

Any news?
Same symptoms to my 2007 Grande punto (1.3 multi-jet 90hp 6 speed)
the car shakes when I accelerates between 60-100 km/h, in higher speeds Like 120-160 vibrationstops, If I release the accelerator then the shacking stops.
I have remove the right drive axle completely, I opened, the shaft spider bearing housing and the cup (tupip) looks fine I put grease and and I put it back, the vibration did not go away:mad:
next job to open the left drive axle.

Finally i replace whole driveshaft left and right with new Metelli .
The problem located in inner part , here is the damage parts.

Just an update from me, as I have changed the complete right driveshaft today, after having it laying around for almost 6 months.

No more shaking!(y)

The axles should not have any free play at any direction. Not up, not down, not left, not right. Some mechanics may say that is is normal....

Well, not exactly true Daniel, the GB side is supposed to go in and out to compensate for the length variation due to the suspension moving ...
Of course it should NOT have any play up/down/front/back !

I think you shouldn't really have any axial play with the axle ON the car, right?

(edit: I mean by hand, of course the inner cv can move in and out)

That's absolutely right, the shaft extends/retracts when the suspension moves, can be moved by hand only when disassembled from the wheel hub ...
