Hello guys, I have a problem with my heater blower on a Fiat Grande Punto 2007. I don't know when it stopped working since I bought the car without the heater working. At first I saw that it was melted and rusted so I cleaned it and it went on intermittently and very weakly for a couple of seconds then it stopped again, so I decided to order and replace the loom + resistor after I have read couple of articles. I thought it will start immediately, but unfortunately it didn't. SO I decided to investigate, tried taking measurements with a multimeter, without engine and fan turned on on 1 it shows around 7.7V and when I switch to other speeds 2,3,4 accordingly shows the same voltage on other speeds. When I switch the engine on it shows 8.8V, however that doesn't seem to be enough to power the fan. Also even if it is in position 0 it reads 8.8V when I try the 2 thick wires(brown, orange). I checked the fuse next to the battery it reads 12V. SO I would appreciate any help on the matter. Cheers!

So resistor and wiring loom have been replaced.
I found that the connection from the wiring loom to the fan was faulty and when I moved it around the fan would go off and on. I also had a look inside the fan housing and that was suspect as well. Would go get a second hand fan and replace the existing one as you have replaced everything else. I did something similar....new wiring loom, new resistor and still fan was faulty...replaced the whole fan unit and everything was fine.

Suggest only thing left if the the actual fan unit. Easy to replace. I had similar - got new wiring loom, new resistor but noticed that if I wiggled the connector to the fan the fan would go off and on. Get a second hand one and replace. Nothing else really to change......also when I looked inside the fab unit it looked a bit suspect as well.. Try that. Do not thing the actual controls would be suspect....is it the knobs control or the digital style control?
