Hi folks,
The heater fan on my daughters GP decided to go on the blink, I have repaired many of them so here it is once again, Same applies to Punto Mk1 andd Mk2 also many other Fiats. Symptoms are heater blower only works on full(4). Solution is simple and cheap about €1/£1, hardest part is removing the resistor from the motor housing. It's normally held in with one self tapper screw.
Pictures show the repair, Take an ordinary electrical connector, take off the insulation and cut in half. remove the old thermal fuse leaving enough for the connectors to attach to, slip on the connectors and bend the fuse ends to get them to fit into the connectors, tighten. The correct fuse is 216°. This repair can be done anywhere and does not need to be soldered as this would require a heat sink etc.
