Well the box on my 1.9JTD appears to have imploded into itself.

Started off making a few "hmm, what's that" noises that weren't familiar.

Then a bit jumpy on pulling away.

2nd gear changes started to crash.

Then wouldn't pull away in 1st (like it was all locked up). Engine stopped when coming up in neutral. Then on re-starting, it would pull away with odd noises.

Got home in 2nd with some very unhappy noises going on.

Is the 6 speed box common across all the diesels, IE can I grab any 6 speed box from a breaker and fit it?

Bloody thing appears to be made of cheese.

Actualy made of Parmigiano in Italy , but probably Cheddar in UK :-(

TBH I think this is the end of the road for the Punto, looking at the cost of boxes vs what it is worth.

Fun while it lasted though.
