Hello,
Our Punto Grande has developed a problem where the washer jets are on for long periods with no way to turn them off, they seem to have a mind of their own.
Has anybody else seen this? What would you suggest?

I don't have a wiring diagram to hand but I'd assume there's a relay somewhere providing power to the pump which sounds like it's sticking

Nope, no relay here, pump signal comes directly from body computer, see end of text (from eLearn)...

There are a few possible faults:
-1 a short in the wiring between the body and the washer pump;
-2 a short in the wiring between the body an the stalk
-3 defective stalk (that would be my guess)
-4 defective body computer (a possible short /corrosion on it)

You have 3 options (if you want to fix it right):
- get your hand dirty, download eLearn, check the wire diagram, check voltages..etc
- pay a good auto electrician to do it;
- take it to a garage and go down the "replace parts till : a.it's fixed or b.you don't want to put any more money it it" route.


I would get my hand dirty, if that doesn't work i would just create a new circuit for the washer pump... new button in the car +relay;
