How often should I replace the drop links. I replaced mine roughly 18 months ago, and I've recently noticed that dreaded knocking and rumbling noise coming back. Are these an item that you could include in a yearly service to replace, as they aren't overly expensive, or have I just been a bit unlucky that they seem to be failing so soon?

Sounding obvious, get in there & inspect them, if they need replacing you'll have to. Cover the ends of new links with vaseline or anti wash off grease, this will make the next time easier. I purchased for my diesel hack heavy duty ones allegedly lasting for four years, time will tell. **** easy job though.:)

Yeah, easy job, as you said, I used a copper grease on the last ones, time will tell if that was the right move. I'll go ahead and order new ones.

There are some really cheap and nasty ones on eBay that don't last very long. If you want long-lasting, pay extra for genuine ones. Brands like Delphi, TRW, Lemfoerder, Sachs Quinton Hazel, are good too. I think Original Birth aren't bad either.

Good bit dearer than Mister auto.ie. I have found Moog parts to be fine. Have you tried your local factor? sometimes their prices are better than the net. My local factor, Top Part in Limerick are agents for Moog but couldn't come near the price of €3.33 each!

Actually, I've just compared the cheapest set of drop links, and a set of brake pads on both sites, and when you factor in that Micksgarage post for free, or I can collect, as I'm not to far away, and Mister auto charge for delivery, there was only a 50c difference, but I get what you are saying, it does pay to shop around first
