Hi all,

Car won't go into 1st with lifting reverse lever even then it's fiddly, also reverse has to be selected with 2 hands and some force, 5th and 6th just won't work at all like it's not going over far enough to the right to be able to select them. I have been advised the gear linkages are the most probable cause of this issue as there is no clunking or strange noises from the gear box, no strange noises at all to be honest.

Do people agree that this is the issue? Don't want to be spending around £250 getting them changed if it's just going to be as bad after they have been changed

You should check for any excessive play in the plastic connections on the link cables, @ the gearbox AND @ lever side ; verify also any loose bracket/cable holder...
