Hi everyone,

Im looking for a bit of insight into why my car has developed a problem.

I had the clutch changed yesterday.
After it has been in the garage the starter motor makes a noise after it has started the engine. There seems to be clutch oil on the slave cylinder where they bled the clutch.

I have read online that its the clutch sticking.. Also it may be fixed by re-greasing it up.

Does the starter motor get removed during a clutch change?
Should I re-grease the starter motor (if so, where?)
Could it be the excess clutch oil? The starter motor is in the same place as the slave i think?

Thanks in advance.

Loose starter bolts could cause a draging clutch as well. Just take the car to them, it's obvious related to the clutch change.

Hi,
Definitely related to the clutch change. Take it back to whoever did the clutch and get them to sort it out. Don't do anything yourself before they look at it. It's their responsibility.
Actual fault could be a number of things, but it is likely to be causing damage so get it sorted ASAP.

Thank you all three for replies.

I have only driven it about 6 times since going back and asking on Tuesday evening so let's hope there is minimal damage to the flywheel and starter motor.

Anyway I told them I'd bring it back on Saturday morning (tomorrow) but I have been looking now after getting a warning triangle lit up and a notification 'Fuel cut off unavailable'.
I could not help but think these could be related electronical faults.

I did a bit of looking and the ground directly below the clutch slave bleed had not been placed back on. (The nut had not been tightened)
Screwed it on correctly and the starter motor has disengaged properly each time I have tested it.
I'll be going out to test it periodically tonight to see if I need to go to the garage tomorrow.

Thank you for your advice about the ground versecrazy.
