hi

my grande usually idles at around 700-800RPM. BUT yesterday got 2 miles from my parents and the alternator drive belt snapped so i nursed it the 2 miles back with no electrics on to save battery life, i got my mum to go to europarts in her car to get me a new belt... its all fitted but now its idleing at 1100-1300RPM and i honestly dont know why any help or suggestions?? please

thanks
pete

I would say look for a vacuum leak.
Maybe the snapping belt broke some air hose.. or something.
If your car only runs of MAP (no MAF) you will probably get no error, the ecu will try to compensate bringing the rpm lower by closing the throttle body valve., but if the leak is to big it will completely close the throttle body valve... but to much air will still go to the engine.

If that is not the case.. then i would suggest a reset adaptive parameters, may have to do with the previous belt slipping for a while.. or.. who knows.

thanks ill check hoses its still runs perfectly fine throttle seems alittle more responsive though (which is good) i know it pulled out oil pressure sensor lead when it snapped but got no warning lights since plugging lead back in

Check voltage on the battery with the engine running.
