so yesterday i noticed the boost on the t jet was holding back, not like the usual boost lag but more like no boost for lets say between 8-10 seconds, then it would come onto boost real hard.
this is not every time i accelerate just every few.
after speaking to a few people, its been suggested that it could be the fact im running a blow off valve to atmosphere along side the puntos MAF sensor?
would a recirc valve help with this? only way i can describe it is the boost hesitates to come on.
also running a bluespark tuning box, which i am going to try on a different map setting tommorow. cheers

Hi Alex,

how are the boost (expected vs actual) pressure curves in MES ? Is that the new setup you were posting about a few days ago ?

Rgds, Bernie

there is no MAF.

The t-jet does not care about the air that is ejected to atmosphere.
10 seconds is insane.
On my t-jet the boost is almost instantaneous if i'm in the right rpm range (lets say over 2k).

Remove the tuning box, put back the original MAP and boost sensors, then use the car like that for a few days. still lag?

This sounds like typical "bolt-on-boy-racer-tuning" issues. If you don't even know what sensors your car has why are you messing with it? The problem could be something you have done wrong, faulty or inappropriate tuning parts (ECU is stopping you damaging the engine) or an unrelated fault. If you want help, give us some hard data (you do at least have Multiecuscan and have been recording before and after sensor data?) not just ask if a "recirc valve" (whatever you think that is) would help.

Hi Alex,

is that happening at initial acceleration (let's say from slow riding in 2nd) or when shifting gear ?
Am asking that to know if the BOV did open just before it happens or was close from a while ...

Hi, Bernie this is from slow riding in second as you put it, what do you think?
at the moment I only have a simple obd2 reader, only change I have recorded is a couple of degrees in intake temp but nothing else, removed box and still the lag, mainly in lower gears.
The bluespark was more of trial and error than anything as the vl36 will either be custom mapped or td04 eventually.
Cheers fellas

Well, I was more expecting the 2nd behavior :-( since the BOV is supposed to avoid the back-pressure on the turbo when the throttle closes abruptly (shifting gear), thus letting it spin @ high speed and be ready for next boost without (too much) lag...

Clueless here, sorry, Bernie
