Hello Fiat Fans!

Finally I decided to register at this forum and I apologize in advance for my bad language skills. I hope you will understand me. I was looking for problem solutions in the Internet but now I got a problem which I don't understand. Let's start from the beginning...

1 year ago I bought my first car (I'm from Poland but now I live in UK). I choosed Fiat Grande Punto 1.2 2006. I was really, really happy I bought this car. After couple days the first problem was... flashing check engine light for couple times. I was scared... The best thing is car didn't lost the power and didn't slow down while it was flashing. Me and my friend connected GP to the computer and the computer shows us 'cylinder 1 and 4 misfire'. I tried to fixed it by myself. I had changed spark plugs, ignition coil, leads. I thought it helped but after a long while it was back again, so I drove with this problem. I have done the trip to Poland (something around 1k miles in one way + return + a lots of miles in Poland). Before this trip I changed my timing belt + water pump. When I came back to the UK I have serviced her (oil, all filters, spark plugs again) and everything was alright apart that flashing check engine sometimes. And then came winter... I had a problem with fire up my GP. Every morning I had to try several times to fire up my car. Usually after 3 times battery died... Problem with battery so battery has been replaced. But this wasn't only problem with battery. I have replaced the battery but I still had a problem with fire up my car. Internet told me GP's has got a typical problem with MAP sensor. I ordered it on ebay, replaced it and? It didn't help. The next step was to change coolant temperature sensor because when I start the car, the temperature sign goes up to the highest, the light is on red and then the power cuts off. Also, sometimes the fan cooler turns on when I tried to fire up. I ordered it on ebay, replaced it and? It didn't help... So I gave up again and decided to register here... I hope you can help me with this problem.

I got the link to YouTube video with this problem but I'm not allowed to post it because I have no 5 posts (I can send it on PM) :(

Thanks a lot in advance!

Kind Regards
Omen

Djen Dobre Omen and welcome to the best Fiat Forum ever ...

sounds like an electrical issue, verify your eathing leads from battery to chassis / gearbox. They might look ok from outside but it happens very often that they are partially turned to powder internally ! Best way to check is to shunt the original lead from battery negative to chassis and to gearbox/engine with battery jumper cables.
Of course this is assuming that your battery is ok, connections are corrosion free etc...

Regards, Bernie

Hi guys!
Thank you for reply! I had problem with random misfire issues before I've changed timing belt but I'm not sure I've done the Phonic wheel learn steps... So I'll try it at the weekend and the same with advice from Bernievarian's post.
Kind Regards
Omen
