Hi Guys.

I have a 2007 Fiat Grande Punto 1.4 Dualogic with AC.

My alternator failed so a friends garage fitted a second hand from breakers, this has unfortunately failed after a week again.

My problem is now that I am looking for a brand new alternator however I don't know whether the second hand one I removed is the correct model/ part number to go getting a new one?

I have attached pictures (that show a Denso unit) and would appreciate any help.

Yes it is the correct one. THe part number on it matches one designated in EPER for your vehicle

You might want to get the garage to check the earth straps in the engine bay, and replace if necessary.

According to the Fiat parts catalogue, the part number (51714794) of the alternator in your picture is suitable for a GP with the 1.2 or 1.4 engine and air conditioning, built up to 15th May 2009.

Based on the DENSO numbers can you confirm the "DAN517 Denso Alternator" is a suitable replacement?

I will get the earth strap done, and will also order the modified gutter drain.

According to the Denso cross reference catalogue, DAN517 is equivalent to Fiat part number 51714794.

Got the Denso Alternator for £112 on eBay which seemed pretty good.
All fitted and no dash lights and 14+ volts as expected. Happy days.
