We are thinking of getting the 1.3 diesel. Anybody know how they drive are they okay? She will be doing alot of town driving and from past experiences at work with diesels the dpf was always clogging and failing to regeneration.
Does the 1.3 have a dpf? Or is it like the French 1.4hdi engine?

Thanks

2006 till roughly 2008 models don't have DPFs. Easiest way to tell:

75hp model - never had DPF.
90hp model - £30 a year to tax, it has a DPF. £100 or more to tax, doesn't have a DPF.

However, if it's going to be doing mostly town driving I would seriously consider getting a petrol. With town driving, the 1.3 diesel can get as low as 30-40mpg and takes an eternity to get up to temperature. I'd personally say you'd be much better off with the 1.4 (much nicer to drive too for short distances - my SO hated my 1.3 with how laggy and stall-able it was on short journeys).

Ditto. I've had one of these for the past seven years. It's a great car for long distances but a no-no for town drivng. As stated above , it takes ages to warm up and as it doesn't get hot there appears to be a tendency to clog up with soot. Also the EGR valve is right pain in where it is situated. Get an older Panda 1.2 Petrol instead for town work.
