Beside the mileage of course that depends mainly of the oil quality and how the car is driven, specially for petrol cars: lot of starts with cold engine (enriched mixture) result with some petrol mixing with the oil, eventually reducing its lubricating properties. There is also the natural oxydation: once a year oil change should be the lowest frequency...

From memory my old 07 grande1.2 8v had intervals of 18k as does my 2012 1.2 8v but i will never leave that long and never more than 12 months (due to the oil consumption and how quickly its gets dark) i only do around 8k a year so is serviced annually(oil and filter) and plugs/filters etc at the 18k intervals

Thanks all. 18,000 does seem to be the figure quoted. It was serviced at Easter last year, so I think I'll wait until she comes home then.
