I am about to sell my car and need to perform a proxy alignment to stop the mileage flashing

Hey i am new to this forum but i think i have a similar problem.My Mileage meter in my Grande Punto (2007 1.2l) has been flashing ever since i changed my battery now i cant use blue-me .I read thorugh different threads and tried out disconnecting the battery and letting it for 1 hr in hope that things will reset itself.However members have suggested that if that doesnt work it means that my car needs 'proxy-alignment' because the instruments in the car are not synced up correctly. This can be only done with a ecuscan apparently ? which i dont have . and spending £120 (quote they gave me at glyn hopkins) is not in my pocket right after christmas. Can anyone run a scan for me ? i live in east london m25 exit 29got members within a couple of miles of you..
why is it flashing..?? may not be that simple a long term fix..
PS - we'll all be at Hatton locks in 4 weeks..!!
