No sorry, I don't know which fuse they replaced. All it said on the invoice was hydraulic pump fuse blown - replaced.

digger58 - they charged USD75 to change the fuse, the fuse was USD6 and they kept the car 4 (!) days to do so. That is the kind of service we get in Barbados.

varesecrazy - Will be very difficult to get the information from the dealer but I will try. In the manual I see there is a fuse no 84 (10A) in the engine compartment that is labeled Robotised gearbox control unit and the same fuse is also labeled CNG methane system management solenoid valves. I wonder if this is the one. I am still trying to find one of that size here.

Is your GP running on Compressed Natural Gas..?? LPG as we term it in the UK

I had the same issue and replaced a fuse in the engine fuse box. It is the only 30A fuse.

According to the manual this is fuse is driving the solenoids. Once replaced, you hear the that sound once the driver's door is opened (which I guess is the gearbox pump – not sure). Fuse cost ~£3 from halfords but you can buy them online for far cheaper.

That allowed my fiat grande punto to change gear again and semi-function, but still have the 'check transmission' error which I am currently investigating.

I hope this helps someone. I would have posted a photo, but I am not yet over my 5 post limit!

Hi,
You will have to get the fault code read to see what is going on. Multiecuscan is highly recommended for this. Alternatively you could try battery disconnected for an hour or two and then 3 engine start stop cycles. If it was an intermittent glitch this might clear the warning.

Thanks Robert. Looking into Multiecuscan at the moment. According to their website I would need the "ELM 327 v1.3+/OBDLink interface without adapter (unmodified)" – I found on amazon an ELM 327 adaptor V1.5 – what's a OBDLink interface?

While I wait for the ELM to arrive – what's the correct level of the automatic transmission fluid? Should the container be fully topped up ?

I checked mine on three instances and found that the level varied depending on whether the pressure pump was initiated – started off slightly above the MIN line but fell each time the pressure pump was initiated to a level about 2 inches lower of minimum level.

To check the level (valid for the M20 6 speed dualogic)

Vehicle on a flat surface and the engine cold.

Apply pressure to the hydraulic circuit of the automated gearbox by opening the door
on the driver’s side, so as to activate the electrohydraulic pump.

Open the bonnet and check that the level
corresponds to the MIN notch on the tank.
- If the level is below the MIN market, remove the cap and add the relevant fluid
(product table) until it reaches the MIN. notch

Thank you. Is there a manual available for the dualogic system? The one with the car cas absolutely no information on it!

Now that I am above my 5-post limit, here's the picture of the fuse box and the fuse replaced in order to get the pump going again

Hi, didn't know this thread was still live.

I posted 2 pdf's on dropbox:

A pdf about the dualogic I found on the web a while back: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21137968/G Punto Dualogic 07-09.pdf

I lifted the part of the GP manual that deals with the fuse boxes: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21137968/Fuse Box Manual.pdf

and what could be the 2 fuses that are related to the dualogic system: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21137968/Dualogic Fuses from Dualogic manual).jpg

in my GP fuse no16 is 5A, no84 is 10A

tangoalphanov, in the manual it does not mention fuse no 83 (30A), which you succesfully changed.

Its seems that Fuse F83 is fuse F37 in GP Elearn

Descriptions > 55 ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT > 5505 INSTRUMENT/GAUGE ELECTRIC... > 5505 ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT Engine compartment junction unit

The Gearbox seems to have the following Fuses
7,5A Gearbox ECU
10A Gearbox Solenoids
30A Electric Pump
15A Gear shifts

The user manual doesn't mention fuse F37 and F39 which have different number
