Hello guys and girls, I'm back again.

So I honestly have no idea how it happened, but near when I bought my car I noticed there was a crack in the bumper, and the back appears to be flattened, as if the car was slowly reversed into a wall. It didn't bother me much so I just ignored it.

Where my girlfriend works, the roads have those ridiculous speed bumps where you have to drive at a granny pace to go over. Not muggins here, no I went bombing it down at 20 MPH (the on-site speed limit) and hit the speed bump, NNGGGGRRRRRR!. I pulled over later on to see what had damaged, and apparently on my rear bumper where the bumper goes underneath the car, I snagged the dropped down part (centre bottom) on the speed bump and pulled it down further.

I think at this point I should look at replacing the rear bumper before it gets caught again and yanked off, but I was wondering are all the Grande Punto rear bumpers the same (between Active and Sport models)? I have a 1.2L Active Punto in black (lost the colour code), and with a decent guide on here I thought I could replace the bumper myself, but last thing I want is to buy a bumper and find it ain't compatible.

TL;DR: Are all rear bumpers across the Grande Punto line the same, or do I specifically need an Active bumper?

Also, my left side brake and indicator light keep swapping roles, and the rear windscreen wiper is possessed. I think I've got an aquarium fusebox somewhere, anyone know where the boot electrics and the left-side lights connect that could be flooded? MOT due, and I don't think it'll pass if my car is a rolling disco show.

I'm at work now, when I've got a chance I'll snap a photo to show what I mean.

Pretty sure all Grande bumpers are exactly the same - sport models just had a spoiler and side skirts, bumpers are unchanged.

Looking on the eLearn disc, it looks like replacing it is an absolute doddle :)

Thanks bud, didn't think of checking eLearn! If it's easy I might get one from a breakers yard, get it sprayed and do it myself. But impending MOT and intermittent light issues giving me bigger issues now :(

5 door and 3 door are different
Thanks mate, I'll keep an eye out! What level of difference is there, the bumper depth is shorter to accommodate the extra doors? For ref, mine is a 3 door.

as for rear lights check for corrosion on multiplug at back of cluster

as for rear wiper check cables in the rubber boot between the hatch and the car body (upper left corner)
So you reckon the wiper and light issues are unrelated? I tried getting the panel off boot door but I was honestly worried I was going to prang it right off.

The issues started in similar times, so I was quick to think maybe a shared fusebox was on the blink. if it's the light clusters I'll have a look if I've got the tools, otherwise it might be worth me getting a sparky to look at it so it passes the MOT for now.

yes i do..

first place to check is the light cluster plug 2 screws and a tug and you get the cluster off (i would bath the screws with release oil first and leave to soak in for an hour or so)
