Technical Battery Light

Hello,

Had this problem for a few months now, and wanting some advise on it. I have a 2008 Grande Punto 1.4.

Sometimes when I start my car, the battery warning light comes on and my power steering isn't on. Once I restart my car, everything is fine again. It doesn't always happen, maybe once a week.

Any ideas what could cause this?

I believe it is an aftermarket one. Would have to check my paperwork for the car when I get home. I had quite a bit of work done on the car about 4-5 months ago, that's when the problem started.

I will give this a check. Any idea what the voltage should be?

Voltage with the engine running should be around 14-14.5 volts

It's a classic issue with aftermarket alternators.

The only solution is to replace it with an original.
