All,

2006 1.3 MJet GP - battery is 3 years old. After 4 days of not being used, battery voltage was down to 7.5 V. I have a spare, and put this in, and all was good. Have monitored the battery voltage (connected to car, but everything off) over 2 days. It stayed at around 12.4 - 12.3 V, dropping by no more than 0.02 V over a few hours. Alternator is working - getting 14.2 - 14.3 V with engine running.

This morning, it measured 12.3 V, but then, 2 hours later, it was down to 10 V.

I measure a current drain of around an amp. Seemed to start after a heavy rain storm (also heavy rain the first time it happened), but that's a guess at the moment. Pulling-out fuses showed that fuse #32 (7.5 Amp) stopped the drain. With the fuse removed, I get a dashboard message about no ABS, power steering, or EBD, so must be related to these (I don't have a wiring diagram).

Hoping this might ring some bells with someone on the forum. Can anyone suggest where I could start looking for the problem?

Thanks in advance/Paul

Quick update: have found that fuse #32 powers the ECU, so if I pull this, then presumably the powered-off ECU shuts-off various relays, which cause the current drain to reduce, so I think I need to look further, to find the actual fuse for the system that is drawing the current.

In the meantime, I have an orange immobiliser warning light (car symbol + padlock), and the car won't start, presumably as a result of the ECU not being powered. Hoping that leaving the battery disconnected overnight will reset this...

Thanks/paul
