Hi all,

As usual with my recent posts it always starts with "I get in to the other half's car today".... Well this is no different!!

Air blow doesn't work on setting 3, yet all others are fine. A quick Google and I can assume it is the resistor, could anyone shine more light on this?

I doubt it is the connector burnt out as that seems to stop the controls all together.

Also the drivers window intermittently works, you could put it down and then it might not go back up. Now from what I am told it always seem to be able to go down but sometimes not back up.

Any suggestions on both are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Fan is very probably the resistor. Get a new one...make sure you get the EXACT same one as there are lots of different ones. Take old one out by the single screw. It's just a PITA to get to....I have a new one that was wrong type TVAU13248240...check the number on the old one and go looking on ebay or go to Fiat.

Check window switch and cables that go between door and car.

From what I can find you take the passenger footwell side panel off and on the white housing there are two visible connectors and the resistor is the bottom one?

Is that correct or is there a definitive picture of its location anywhere

I have a 1.2 petrol and the resistor is up the back of the passenger footwell. It may well bo in a different position on yours but would be surprised. Have u check Eper for piccies?

Hi guys,

So finally got a good look today (after replacing the alternator in the car which went) and it seems the connector which plugs in to the resistor socket has burnt on one pin hopefully you can see on the below picture.

I assume I can replace this connector?

The wire which goes in to this connector also has turned blue due to the heat coming from it, is this common.....in these cars?

Have yet to get to the window switch as its not a huge problem but coming in to winter now the blower is.

Ok, after a quick eBay search I found the connector and its ordered. Not the most expensive either.

Seems handy enough to fit; cut old off, clip wore back and strip new clean wire and solder on to new connector.

A quick blow in the connector and a reinsert setting 3 is now working on the blower. Still replacing as don't fancy a small fire and will be reframing from using it until replaced too.

Might do a how to guide as well as I'm sure it's a common enough probably with the cars ageing a bit now.

Just the intermittent window and air con to sort now :) the joys!!
