Have recently had issues with juddering when braking on my 56 reg Grande Punto. After the front discs and pads were replaced a 2nd time (under warranty fortunately) I have been advised that the juddering is still there which appears to be an ABS fault. Apparently the ABS is permanently engaged causing the juddering each time I brake. Still waiting for the Fiat dealer to return my call so thought I'd check if anyone else has had a similar issue. Is there an ABS controller of sorts that could just be replaced? This may be a cheaper option than going down the whole diagnostics route.

IT NEEDS to be diagnosed!
the problem could be at one of the for wheels either a sensor or the magnetic ring on the hub/wheel bearing (probably the ring).
They need to monitor wheel speed reading on all 4 wheels at the same time. one of them would read a different speed (lower) fooling the ABS unit into thinking that one of the wheels is locking up.... the unit does it's job and you get a juddering feeling in the brake pedal.
