Hi there the blower in my punto is hardly working anymore. Either it's not starting or when it does its loud with hardly any air out of vents. I believe it will be either the resistor and/or the motor. The garage says its best to change both as if ones going the other won't be far behind and the cost will be about £200. Was wanting to ask is this a fair price as they've always done work at a very reasonable price for me up to now. Also as someone that knows nothing about car maintenance is it a tough job to try myself?
Thanks for any advice
Just one more question about the blowers. The air that comes through the vents, where is it taken from? I always thought it was air coming through the grill at the front of the car but am I completely wrong?

Hi,
all too common I'm afraid,
get to the GP section,
look at the top.. there are links to :

FAQ's

Recalls

GUIDES

it may well be covered in all 3 , ;)
but there should be a proper walk-through guide with ALL the relevant info,

removing - to have a look - should take 30 mins with no more than basic tools,(y)

Thanks for the reply. Sorry about this but what and where is the GP section. Thanks again

Found the section thanks for the advice. Had a look at the car myself. Damn I find it almost impossible to get to to then carry out any actual checks or work. Talk about making it difficult fiat

Check the connector that plugs into the fan, these are renowned for heating up and having a poor connection. Had the same on mine. The connector housing was pretty melted, i cut the connector off and connected using some regular automotive shielded crimps.

Not too hard to remove the fan and check the connections. .
