Hi there is a rattling noise coming from the front of the car as pull off through gears 1-3. Its not the heat shield as iv checked. Does any know what it might be please? Has only started doing this since clutch was changed last september.

What sort of rattle we talking about? Does is sound like metal clapping together almost? I only say this as it might be one of two things (side note, not a mechanic here)
1. Your dual mass flywheel is starting or is on its way out (I had this problem)
2. Your differential is on its way out - If you want to check for this there are many ways of finding out (because guess what I've GOT this problem ha) Does the rattle intensify when you put your foot down in 1,2,3 from about 1500-3500rpm because that is when there is most load on the diff. Secondly check under the car and look at the seals, on or near the drive shaft (again not a mechanic) or look to see if there is a **** ton of oil everywhere from the diff.

Hope this has helped in anyway shape or form, only really going from past and current experience here

Hi cheers for replying. Yes it certainly is a metal rattling sound. It always does it when i pull off on a little incline etc. It cant be a diff problem as its front wheel drive 1.3. I will definately look into the flywheel. Do you think also it could be the drive shaft?

Front wheel drive cars also have differentials albeit part of the gearbox, don't rule that out.

What engine? If its a diesel it could be the inertial/torsion damper pulley on the crankshaft that carries the aux belt. if it is you should also be able to induce the noise when stationary and out of gear by very slowly increaing the revs above idle.
