This is driving me mad, That damned symbol is coming on now and again. I have replaced a blown front side light bulb and taken out both rear light clusters and cleaned all the connections on them and the bulbs, all are correct wattage as well! All bulbs work. Any ideas please?

1.2 8 Valve and yes as I said ALL lights are working. I checked all the lights before posting as this is what has me flummoxed.

Think carefully about when the warning comes on. Most likely when more than one set of lights are being asked to illuminate, such as braking when the sidelights are already on.

Checking each light individually will often show no problems, but if either light unit has a bad earth connection, when more than one system tries to work together, they fight for an earth path.

To properly test, turn on everything at once. Headlights, brake lights, reversing lights, rear fog and hazards. Hopefully should show the problem.

Good thinking Batman!!:) It just seems so random, can't see any pattern to when it activates the warning, I previously had this issue and I believe it was down to the connections on the rear light clusters, Cleaned all these and it didn't appear again for over a year. It suddenly appeared, checked all and they were OK, couple of weeks later got the bulb symbol and I noticed a front side light bulb was gone, replaced this but symbol remained. Its just totally random.I like your thinking on this but like all electrical gremlins they hide when you go looking!

According to my manual, it also warns you of
1. Engine oil pressure sensor failure

2. Inertial fuel cut off switch intervened.

3. Rain sensor failure.

4. Parking sensor failure.

5. Tyre pressure monitoring system failure.

I assumed from the original post that he was looking at the bulbs because he also got the bulb symbol.
However, if it is just the triangle alone, it will need the codes read to determine the fault area.
Needs someone near Limerick with MES to read the codes.

Don't have 3, 4 or 5, Surely if it were no 1 oil light would be on as well? Guess its time for a plug in.

Use MES with the yellow cable so you can access body computer.
(body comp stores all errors like the ecu)

What is MES? Just noticed that one of the bubs in the high level brake light was gone, I have replaced this and light is currently off. Hopefully that was it.
