Hi,
I am looking for any information or help anyone can offer on a fault that has developed on my wife's Punto Automatic gearbox. I know others have touched on this subject but there appears to be no previous threads with any conclusions to the source of this problem or a solution so i have started a new one with hope someone has seen this problem and managed to get it resolved.
A couple of weeks ago the car just jumped out of gear into neutral and now will not go back into any gear again, errors on dash says 'Gear unavailable' and 'Transmission Fault see hand book'.
When the RAC man came to recover the car he pulled the following codes from the system then reset the ECU and cleared all the codes off it to see if that would get the car working again (it did not).
(the Alternator was recently replaced so i do not think this code was cleared but do not expect it to be anything to do with the problem)
After the codes where cleared the only one that returned again was P060C.

Since getting the car home i have had it connected up to MultiECUScan and can see the P060C code which i can clear but it instantly reappears when the engine is started and before any attempt to select a gear has been made.
If anyone can offer any help with this problem it would be much appreciated also if it helps i have uploaded the information that has been captured by the MultiECUScan program.

Hi JFerris321,

Same problem here.
One week ago happened first time to my GP robotised gearbox (64.000 km/ 2008).
One exception: if I shut down the engine, after about 1 hour the gearbox works fine for about 30 minutes ;) Probably now is the transition time from fine working to total fail.

The Fiat representative told me I should completely change the electro-hidraulic command, meaning at least 2000 EUR, which is too much for a car valuated on the market (if good) at about 3000 EUR, and also could be some problems with the manual part of the gerabox (not tested yet).

I am looking now to switch the robotic to a manual (using the current manual gearbox existing on the car, removing the electrohidraulic actuator).

I don't know how expensive is this operation but I am prospecting for this issue.

So, let me know please if you did find a solution.

Best,
Nicolae

Unfortunately i have still not found a solution to this, how ever i have also looked into the idea of converting to manual but from what i can tell it would not be that easy as the engine computer and body computer will lock the car out if the transition ecu does not detect the robot parts.

You are right JFerris321, different Fiat specialists told me that I need to change also 2 computers, so not a big deal this change to manual.

Meantime I've rented a car :( before I'll take a decision.
