I have 56 plate Grande Punto 1.2
Has now clutch set installed as it was making grinding/rumbling noise when clutch not pressed in and everyone said that it is a bearing issue.
New clutch in with all the other bits, disc and bearing, shifting is easy and without problems as it was before but the rumbling grinding noise stayed as it was before. When clutch engaged no noise at all.
Noise is strong in 0,1,2 after that I can't really hear it but it might still be there.
Do I need a whole new gearbox or is there anything else what can cause the noise?

If the noise stops when the clutch pedal is pressed down it sounds as if the gearbox is at fault.

???? so there is no way around it?!

Probably gearbox problem, Have check oil level.

Oil is fine.. , but thank you for the thought... It might just have up and started to die..
