So I really didn't like the beige colour of my dashboard so I decided to buy some plasti-dip (I lie, it was actually Halfords special £9.99 Rustoleom Peelcoat) and do my dashboard I wasn't really expecting an amazing job but in my opinion it turned out to be an amazing job.

This isnt my image but I did'nt plan on making a post about it, so I nicked this one of google. My dash was exact same.

First bit came off, I done this as a tester to see if it would apply right and looked ok when put back on, and it did. (there is a few marks while refitting but they wiped off)

Finally got the big piece off which was a bit of a pain considering they arnt meant to come off. I broke every plastic weld holding it on (It somehow clipped back in and was just as strong when I refitted it though)
The key to applying it perfect is 4-5 super light coats.

Peeled off the P badge which peeled off perfectly. You would never even tell it was sprayed.

Finished product, clipped back in well.

Was it worth it? 100%. Still also have half a can left.

Looks really good that does! Got a pic of the can or a link to halfords? I tend to always buy the wrong thing :bang:

Sorry for the late reply I usually get an email. And sure here's a link:
http://www.halfords.com/motoring/pa...paints/rust-oleum-peel-coat-400ml-spray-black

It comes in black, orange, red, silver etc...
It's super fool proof if you do light coats.
Hope it works out well if you attempt it (y)

I also followed this guide for reassurance on some bits of removing the dash

Didn't realise you could get a beige colour dashboard, looks disgusting.

Your recolour looks better than mine that came in black! (y) I love the colour options though, just waiting to jump in a mate's car and find the dashboard a vision of tango.

Nice job! I vinyled mine but it looks like this would have been a better idea.

Also, beige was only the second worse colour...

Love that blue vibe going on there, looks epic! Was it a lot of work to do that across the car?

Just noticed my dashboard console is actually grey not black... What other colour options were there when it was new?

The blue was actually a factory option between 2006-2008, I think the choice was either that or the more common beige (with beige door card and beige seats). Both horrible colour choices in my opinion. Only the Sporting got a dark-grey interior which I think was rolled out to all models between 2008-2010, with 08-10 Sportings upgraded to carbon fibre style.

Mine was beige but I carbon vinyl'ed it to give it the 2008-2010 look.
