My open door light on my dash keeps randomly coming on and off however every door is shut, anyone got any ideas?

Hi there, I had the same issue and found that the boot-lid sensor/lock was very dirty. Took it out, cleaned it with electrical spay and it seems to be working fine now.

I'd go with the boot lock as well! Take it off, clean it and replace, should do the trick, did for me anyway. If you search here there is plenty of help on how to take it off and strip it.

Did flushing the tailgate lock not cure it?

I have drenched it in WD40 Is that what you mean?

Very annoying stays off for a day then comes back on next day!!!

My money's on the micro switch In the boot lock, had exactly Same issue a few months back, it also prevents dead locking, You need to Either replace the lock or take your lock apart and desolder the micro switch and fit a new one, about £2-£3 for micro switch, I think a new lock from Shop4parts is about £30,

If it STAYS ON.. how will you know which lock is triggering the lamp ?

There is only one light that comes on if any door open

On Active spec.. certainly

on mine [dynamic] it says on the display which door is open, are they not all like that then?

Dont think so..

My 57 plate active mj has a dodgy boot latch..

but doesnt specifically say boot..

so it could be any lock at fault then

ok, does it have a boot light? and if so, does it work with boot open?

if it doesnt work, its likely the switches inside the boot lock are at fault, if you dont mind a few mins dismantling then get the boot lock out, check the contact pins in the socket are ok, give inside the lock a squirt with some contact cleaner [as well as the plug] and try again, if no luck then just replace the mechanism, if you cant afford new go for a used one from an Alfa Mito or Corsa, and of course Grande Punto Part number: 55701971 the same mechanism is on all those cars.

Yes.. my Dynamic is still similar..
But LCD screen gives Tailgate - Door open message.. to help
